ZurviveAndThrive is a Hardcore, PvE focused, server first and foremost, with PvP zones and entire PvE days.  

We feel the main challenge for DayZ players should come from Environmental Factors

We have incorporated, and configured, various modifications to try and achieve this goal of being a Semi Realistic Hardcore Survival server, as much as a computer game can be, whilst still leaving some of the fun aspects in.  
At this point in time our server, although continually evolving, offers:-  
 
Customized Zombies
Each type of Zombie has different strengths and weaknesses, part of your journey will involve finding the best way to dispatch each type of Zombie
 
Dynamic Zombie Spawns
Zombies will spawn anywhere and everywhere. How they spawn, what type and how many Zombies spawn, is all based on your location and your group size
   
Dark Horde 
We also have a Dark Horde which roams around the map, don't get too close to it unless you want to hunt it

Broken Water Wells and Gas Stations
Wells and Gas Stations DO NOT WORK
Boil water or use Chlorine for hydration and fuel comes from Jerry Cans

Tiredness
You will need to sleep to regain your rest level, if you do not you will simply fall unconscious

Stronger Bears and Wolves   
Bears and Wolves are customized from Vanilla DayZ, are harder to kill and also drop a different subset of 'loot'

 
Limited Loot
Black Market Traders
Toxic Zones
Customized Tier Zones
Customized Military locations/buildings
